Hi, I'm Arjun.
I'm an interface designer interested in shaping tools, and thinking about how they shape us.
I'm interested in niche or “unsexy” domains where design can clarify complexity, change behavior, and raise the ceiling of people's ambitions. This has led me to industries like fleet management for commercial trucks (which is what I do currently), to insurance securitization and ocean conservation.
I'm drawn to these sorts of verticals because they tend to offer unusual constraints, unique interaction problems, and opportunities to create new interface paradigms. Working in these spaces also demystifies the invisible infrastructure that governs our everyday lives.
In past lives, I co-founded an AI startup, and did internet governance policy research at the UN.
I studied Computer Science and Cognitive Science with a minor in Statistics, a degree that has only grown more relevant with time.
Outside of work, I run aci-d club, a Brooklyn-based design community for designers, artists, and craftspeople. I host weekly meetups, monthly field trips, as well as talks and workshops. We've been running weekly since 2024 and attract (in my opinion) some of the best designers and artists in the city. Our weekly hangs are a space for fruitful collision across disciplines, and our other programming is designed to shift people's relationship with art from one of consumption to one of encounter. The ultimate goal of the club is enduring friendships. Over the years we've been lucky to host:
- One of the first public visits to the New York Sign Museum
- A visit to Nam June Paik and Shigeko Kubota's studio and loft
- A workshop with folk.computer, a new physical computing paradigm
- Brutalist architecture tours of Upper and Lower Manhattan
- A visit to Milton Glaser's archives
- and many more
In addition to that, I also run monthly meetups for DIY arts, music, and community organizers in the city.
I love movies, aphorisms, photobooks, tiki bars, street food, play, ambling, em dashes, and being a lurker on the internet. If you're interested in learning more about me or any of my work, please reach out at !
